Mud Season

Mud season.
It’s quite an interesting time.
There’s melting snow everywhere,
And random patches of ice,
Mixed in with the slippery mud
Under the carpet of decaying leaves.
The melting icicles dot the houses,
At least if there are any left,
And animals haven’t come out of hibernation yet,
But they are thinking about it.
The water,
Where the ice has melted off,

March Showers Bring...Mud?

.
.
.
Watching the rain fall
The cold dirt thawing to mud
Love that fifth season

Muddy Muddy

Muddy Muddy

it squishes and squashes between my toes
where it all comes from nobody knows
creating an ooy gooy mess that shows
but the temperature warms as the winter slows
and not a second to early the 5th season goes

The Wonderful Mud

Puddle boots on and rained coats donned, two girls are well protected from the rainy elements.
“Psh… Who needs make-up?”
“Not me!”
The ten year olds travel along the side of the car, crouching near a puddle nestled in the driveway. Dipping their hands in to the gushing ooze, it turns colors at their finger tips.
“Ellie, watch this. All we need comes from nature!”

MUD (a musical)

MUD…MUD…MUD MUD MUD MUDMUD.
MUUUUUUUDDDDDDDD
MUDMUDMUDMUDMUDMUDMUDMUD
MUUUUUUD MMMMMMMMUD.
Now repeat in a musical fashion
While singing loudly
And you will see how much fun
Mud can really be. :D

Mud

A deep rich brown
That stains everything
It comes into contact with
That is slippery and squishy
And slides easily between toes
That earns complaints and ridicule
From most who live with it
But it also brings
Spring fever
The sun
Warmer weather
Longer days
And new beginnings.

Mud

Mud is brown.
Mud is slimy.
Little insects live in the mud.
Snails, slugs, and all kinds of worms.
It oozes out of my fingers.
Sometimes it’s sticky like jelly,
And sometimes it’s wet like slush.
Little kids go out to play in the mud,
Only to come back in with dirty
Mud-covered faces and hands,
Leaving mud tracks and fingerprints
Everywhere, and get yelled at by

Puddles

I slap on my big rubber boots.
SPLASH!
I leap out the door like a flower reborn.
SPLASH!
I look up to the sky.
Drip. Drip.
Drip. Drip.

I go inside and grab my coat
Then run back outside.
SPLASH!

I count in my head,
One, Two Three.

Mud Puddles (A Poem for Two Voices)

Mud puddles are fun. SPLASH!
We run and run and run. SPLASH!
Now we have to jump. SPLASH!
We land with a big thump. SPLASH!
Mud feels good on our skin. SPLASH!
It makes us feel good within. SPLASH!
When our mom saw us she got really loud,
but when we went up to our rooms
we felt really proud! SPLASH!

Mud

When you approach mud,
Dont be afraid to take your shoes off
And feel its unique texture:
For it's squishy, slippery, and soft.
Mud is disliked by many,
Because if someone falls in it
It can ruin his or her day
But for many children, a place that's muddy
Is where they love to play.
They get very dirty and when they get home
Their parents ask in outrage:

Mud, The Best Stuff In The World

Mud, wonderful mud. Who would ever hate mud? Besides mother, I mean. The mothhers are the ones who clean out the stains in their child's favorite pair of jeans.
Mud is awesome in every kind of way. Adults always picture children in a pile of mud having fun, some little kids even eating it. But, ya know, mud is the stuff the Earth is made of. Mud, wonderful mud.
