Swan

I Wish I Was A Swan

I wish I was a swan in the deep calm lake
My home would be my sanctuary.

Water all around
And the clear blue sky, a reflection of the glistening lake
I wish I was a swan in the deep calm lake.

Gliding smoothly with no fear
I'd ponder with no worry.

While the humans chatted and played on the grass
I'd slide over towards them
Awaiting their left over food.

If I were a swan in the deep calm lake
I'd dance gracefully like a ballet dancer
My long neck outstretched elegantly.

I would be queen of the lake
Over-powering all the others.

I wish I was a swan in the deep calm lake
As night time drew closer
I'd retire as queen and move fluently towards my peaceful corner.

I'd watch the sun set behind the peak of the mountain
And all the creatures getting ready to rest.

While the sky a dark blue colour
Red lights emerge through the cracks.

I would relax beneath the glimmering night sky
The glowing moon light shining on me
