“What do you think Santa is gunna bring you this Christmas, Johnny?” 6-year-old Sam asked, waiting keenly for Johnny’s answer.
“I think he’s gunna give me that shinny red car I’ve always wanted. My momma said she would try to give it to me for Christmas, before she went away. And I have been saving up for it since I was 5 ½.” When Johnny was almost done his sentence, he started to cry.
“It’s ok Johnny, we all miss our mommy’s and daddy’s.” Sam replied while patting Johnny softly on his back. “But we all know that Santa will give us a nice home, with new mommies and daddies.”

The Girl on the Silk
Submitted by glazwrites on April 23, 2008 - 10:43.Red silk drapes around her,
It supports while she contorts.
Together they are one,
Separate they heed no magic.
The air is tense while she flies through it,
She makes no noise yet we scream inside:
"Will she live? Will she survive?"
She accepts the fear,
Aware but distant,
Within herself and without.
She lives only for it,
She lives because of it,
It lives because of her.
They carry her away,
But is she ever gone?
Now, two empty drapes flutter,
In the singing wind.

White
Submitted by awsmpossum on December 13, 2007 - 17:01.So once there was this girl. And this girl's skin was white. Not just not-black, but like really white. She looked like printer paper or a new porcelain sink. She was always cold because her skin couldn't absorb light or warmth. When she went outside on a sunny day, she was impossible to look at. Because she reflected the sun.
Red

By Emily & Harrison Myers*
Red is the color of an angry face,
Red is the color of a loved ones trace.
Red is the color of wood burning bright,
The color of bravery, the color of fright.
The mark a soldier leaves behind,
The thing his friends will have to find.
All this and only a color,
RED.
*Harrison is my little brother, he is in 5th grade. I'm in 8th grade.
