The Carpet

Its red tint nearly blends in with the brick floor.
Though, in some places, the color has worn away,
It's just a threadbare carpet on a red brick floor.

It covers the cold floor
In a cold dark hallway.
The carpet dwarfs the portrait of a very old knight,
That hangs on the wall.

This same carpet has covered this same floor,
For approximately 200 very long years.
And it will probably stay here for a very long time,
Because the building it lives in,
Has been long abanded and cold.

  • People and politics

    It tears people apart.
    It brings people together.
    It creates a whirlpool of
    debating, pointing fingers, and strategy.

Politics has brought divisions among us
and identity in an ever-changing world.
  • The Wolds We Visit

    A place where
    we can dream,
    and be ourselves.
    We rencounter
    the day,
    and the day before,
going over it a hundred times
